Since its inception by Gerald Whitman in November of 1989, Whitman Mfg. has remained a forerunner in the automation and design of various processes and products through the production of exhaust and related components for manufacturers and OEMs in the auto aftermarket.
At Whitman Mfg., all tooling and manufacturing processes are custom designed and built in our on-site tool & die machine shop. Our operation is led by a highly qualified and exceptionally skilled management team consisting of motivated and experienced individuals. Our current 65,000 square foot facility in the Greater Toronto Area has a 2,000 amp 600 volt service, 30 foot clear ceilings, and 8 dock level and 2 ground level loading doors. We have incorporated Lean Manufacturing techniques, resulting in on time delivery improvements while maintaining minimal inventories.
The bulk of our product offerings (approximately 70%) consist of custom designed muffler and exhaust components for the OE manufacture of small engine related equipment—turf care, APU and generator. Whitman currently has over 250 unique application designs that have been created from a universal template of existing components. This allows for the flexibility of customization with the oversight and focus of Lean Manufacturing. As markets have changed, Whitman has adapted and sought unique outlets in which to provide its products. We are geared for continued growth in our established industries, while penetrating new markets such as the greens market (golf carts, mowers etc).
